The Visionary Physician

It is with profound sadness that 4medica announces the passing of our Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Oleg Bess. While known to many as a titan of health informatics, Oleg's journey began at the bedside. After earning his medical degree in 1988 and completing his residency in 1992, Oleg dedicated over three decades to medicine as a board-certified OB/GYN.

From Practice to Purpose

4medica was born from the clinical realities Oleg faced while practicing alongside his mother, fellow OB/GYN Dr. Ludmila Bess, at the Women's Center of L.A. It was within the halls of their practice that he witnessed firsthand the critical gaps in health data and the resulting risks to patient safety. Driven by a physician's heart and a visionary's mind, he co-founded 4medica in 1998 to ensure that every patient's data is as cared for as the patient themselves.

A Life of Service

Beyond his clinical and professional achievements, Dr. Bess was a devoted humanitarian who believed that leadership carried a responsibility to uplift the vulnerable. He was a tireless advocate for community aid and mentorship, believing that a company's true value is measured by the good it does in the world.

Honoring His Legacy

Oleg's dedication to community aid was a cornerstone of his life including a foundation to serve the homeless and vulnerable. While the family has requested privacy at this time, we will provide information for memorial contributions as they come available.

Ensuring the Vision Continues

The foundation Oleg built is incredibly strong. To carry his torch forward, the Board of Directors has appointed Gregg Church, who has served as President and worked in close partnership with Oleg for over 15 years, as CEO and President. Gregg also joins the Board of Directors to ensure the "people-first" philosophy Oleg instilled remains our North Star.
