Clinical Data Exchange Technology

Interested in details of 4medica’s health data exchange technology for its clinical interoperability and data management solutions? It leverages a robust mix of SaaS subscription products, and cloud-based data exchange and management services.

Launched in 1998 to facilitate an accurate, timely health data exchange between labs and payers, 4medica has grown to become a leading provider of healthcare interoperability and real-time clinical data management and interoperability software and services.

As clinical integration experts, we’ve continued to perfect our scalable architecture to ensure fast, cost-effective deployments of cloud-based clinical data exchange solutions. As the demand for health information exchanges have increased, 4medica turned its expertise to the varied health connectivity needs of hospitals, health systems, physician groups and care delivery organizations (ACOs, HIEs, RHIOs). The result was 4medica’s platform.

Thanks to its modular architecture, healthcare organizations can implement a full-spectrum health information exchange platform, or select individual applications for lab, radiology, pathology and inpatient connectivity.

With over a two decades of experience in clinical data integration, 4medica continues to demonstrate the highest levels of performance, scalability and customer support.

Cloud-based Solutions

4medica offers organizations the ability to deploy its cloud-based health data exchange platform without installing special hardware or software at customer locations. 4medica builds upon and integrates with existing electronic health record (EHR) systems, practice management software and other clinical and administrative applications. By using a data transformation layer to normalize information into a common format and vocabulary (ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED, etc.), 4medica enables health organizations to seamlessly exchange health data.

HIE Connectivity Standards

Committed to clinical data interoperability, 4medica designed the clinical data exchange platform to support patient referrals and the continuity of care document (CCD) in CCDA and FHIR formats, the standard for today’s health information exchange among providers and HIEs. Additionally, 4medica’s health data exchange system complies with the patient empowerment component of meaningful use by receiving and storing personal health record information, which can then be transmitted to personal health services.

4medica’s solution also includes connectivity to the NHIN gateway, ensuring full interoperability with the future federal standard. This includes compliance with the CONNECT eHealth Exchange standards with support for IHE profiles that’s built in and direct messaging using partnered solutions.
