4Medica Appoints Felipe Carino, Jr. as Chief Technology Officer
Information Technology Veteran to Spearhead Technical Strategy for the Leading Provider of Web-Based Clinical
Laboratory Solutions
Culver City, CA - December 13, 2004 - 4Medica, the nation's leading provider of web-based applications
designed to support Laboratory Outreach programs, today announced the appointment of Felipe Carino, Jr. as the
company's new Chief Technology Officer.

Mr. Carino comes to 4Medica with more than 24 years of experience developing leading-edge database, storage and
electronic medical record products with a number of leading companies and startups. He has led pioneering efforts
in technical development, management, marketing, and competitive pre-sales. Mr. Carino has conceived and led the
development of five major new products since 1993 as StorageSQL CTO, FileTek Director Strategic New Business and
Teradata Chief Architect.
As an inventor, he has personally been awarded 8 patents with 3 still pending. Mr. Carino has co-authored two
IEEE book chapters, presented/published 20+ conference/journal papers and is an area editor for the Information
Systems Journal.
Mr. Carino holds an Executive M.B.A. from USC, as well as a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and two
Bachelor's degrees (Computer Science and Mathematics) from New York University.
