4Medica Appoints Ravi Sharma President and CEO
November 20, 2002… Culver City, CA… 4Medica, Inc. announced today the appointment of Ravi Sharma as President and CEO. Mr. Sharma succeeds Company co-founder Alexander Zubatov, who will continue to serve 4Medica as a member of its Board of Directors. Mr. Sharma is former President and CEO of MedAssure, a leading developer of portable electronic patient records, General Manager of the Diagnostix division of Sunquest Information Systems, the world's leading supplier of laboratory information systems, General Manager of the Northeast Region of General Electric Medical Systems and Vice President of Marketing of Toshiba America Medical Systems.
"Ravi's proven ability to design and implement large-scale medical product ramp-ups, his consistent track record of success and his deep knowledge of the clinical laboratory and electronic medical record fields uniquely equip him to lead the Company at this stage of rapid growth and business development," stated Oleg Bess, M.D., Chairman and Chief Medical Officer.
Mr. Sharma earned a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He was chosen by General Electric's Jeffrey Immelt to lead GE Medical Systems' Global Six Sigma program. At Sunquest, Mr. Sharma led the development of its flagship Diagnostix systems from concept to reality. Sunquest was subsequently acquired by British banking and healthcare IT conglomerate MISYS plc.
