We are currently seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to support our production Data Center activities around the clock 24x7.

Job responsibilities include the following:

* The ongoing Oracle Database Administration (DBA) and maintenance for 4medica medical application.
* Perform weekly backups and apply application patches to production systems.
* Tune Oracle application to ensure application meets 4Medica customer SLA.
* Develop Oracle disaster recovery second site using custom scripts or Data Guard.
* Evaluate and enhance Oracle logical and physical layers to increase performance.
* Perform data uploads to the application.
* Assist the datacenter operation with system administration (which includes SAN, backups, remote site operations and other daily data center operational tasks).
* Database schema management and tables maintenance
* Database object changes and rebuilds to accommodate newly developed system capabilities
* Database resource usage monitoring and analysis
* Collection and reporting of operational metrics
* Capacity planning and equipment/tool purchase recommendations
* Script development, installation, test, and support
* Software patches management, installation, and test
* Regular database backup and restore
* Support of disaster recovery procedures
* Security monitoring
* Interface with offshore development team and with other DBAs / system administrators

We are looking for a unique person with the following qualifications:

* 3 - 5 years experience with Oracle DBA on Unix OS.
* Working knowledge of 9i and 10g Oracle DB capabilities, features, implementation options
* Experience working with multi-tiered web-based ASP solutions
* Excellent systems thinking and solution orientation
* A self-motivated quick learner who works well with other members of the team
* Well organized and detail-oriented


Education and Experience:

* A bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field (Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Science, Information Technology, etc.)
