Management Team

Our management team is comprised of leaders in the fields of healthcare technology, medical services and marketing. Their collective experience and highly specialized knowledge of the test resulting, ordering and billing needs of healthcare professionals help shape the functionality and accessibility of 4Medica's online lab outreach applications, and allows us to meet the full range of our customers' needs.

Ravi Sharma, President and CEO
Prior to joining 4Medica in 2002, Mr. Sharma was the General Manager of the Diagnostix division of Sunquest Information Systems, the world's leading supplier of laboratory information systems, where he led the development of its lab outreach functionality Diagnostix (re-named after the acquisition by Misys) from concept to reality. Mr. Sharma was the President and CEO of MedAssure, a division of DataCard, that developed and marketed portable electronic patient records on Smart Cards. Mr. Sharma has worked in the Diagnostic Imaging Industry for over 20 years with GE Medical Systems and Toshiba. Leading the company's Global Six Sigma program at GE, Mr. Sharma also served as the General Manager of the Northeast Zone in an earlier role. At Toshiba America Medical Systems, he worked as the Vice President of Marketing. Mr. Sharma holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.

Oleg Bess, MD, Chairman and Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Bess has developed computerized medical solutions for over ten years and is an early adopter of Internet technology in medical practice. He is a frequent consultant to physician groups on the subject of medical practice workflow and efficiency. Dr. Bess is a practicing OB/GYN physician specializing in advanced Laparoscopic (Laser) Surgery

Michael Warthen, Vice President Sales & Business Development
Mr. Warthen is the former Manager of eHealth Business Development for SeeBeyond Technology Corporation, a leading provider of integration technology solutions to the healthcare industry. Previously, Mr. Warthen was the founder of MedAssure, a leading developer of portable patient records. Prior to MedAssure, he was the Health Industry Director for DataCard. Mr. Warthen has over 20 years of clinical information systems experience, holding various sales and management positions with IBM, Cerner and SMS (Siemens) Corporation. Mr. Warthen holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Western Maryland College.

Felipe Carino, Jr, Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Carino has 24 years of experience developing leading-edge database, storage and electronic medical record products with a number of leading companies and startups. He has led pioneering efforts in technical development, management, marketing and competitive pre-sales. Mr. Carino has conceived and led the development of five major new products since 1993 as StorageSQL CTO, FileTek Director of Strategic New Business and Teradata Chief Architect. As an inventor, he has been personally awarded eight patents, with three still pending. Mr. Carino has co-authored two IEEE book chapters, presented/published 20+ conference/journal papers and is an area editor for the Information Systems Journal. Mr. Carino holds an Executive M.B.A. from USC, as well as a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and two Bachelor's degrees (Computer Science and Mathematics) from New York University.

Alexander Kasman, Technical Director
Mr. Kasman has over 15 years of experience in systems planning, applications and development across financial, healthcare and telecommunications industries. Mr. Kasman received a MS in Computer Science from CSUN, and a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from UCLA.
